After the successful premiere, Stockholm Beach is back in the Avicii Arena

On January 28, 2027, the world's best beach volleyball players will return to Stockholm - and the ambition is clear: the record of 4,000 spectators will be broken. The goal is to fill the arena with 6,000 beach volleyball spectators. In January 2026, Stockholm Beach made Swedish beach volleyball history. When David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig won the spectacular final in the Avicii Arena in front of 4,000 spectators, a new audience record was set for Swedish beach volleyball. Now Stockholm Beach is back.

On January 28, 2027, Avicii Arena will once again open its doors to one of the world's most spectacular beach volleyball competitions. After the historic premiere, the bar is now being raised even higher - the goal is to create space for 6,000 spectators.

"We are very happy to welcome back some of the world's best beach volleyball players to Avicii Arena. We made Swedish beach volleyball history last year with 4,000 spectators. Now we want to take the next step. Records are there to be broken", says Jan Kowalski, event manager for Stockholm Beach.

Stockholm Beach maintains the crowd-friendly format Queen & King of the Court, where several teams meet simultaneously on the same court and the tempo is high from the first serve to the last ball. The format is created to get close to the audience and provide an intense arena experience with short, dramatic matches and constant action. The ambition with Stockholm Beach is greater than just creating a single competition.

"We want to help make beach volleyball even more popular in Stockholm and in Sweden. By bringing the world's best players to one of our largest arenas, we can give the audience the opportunity to experience the sport live, up close and in an environment that really elevates the experience. It was clear last year that there is great interest", says Jan Kowalski.

The premiere in 2026 was the first beach volleyball competition ever in Avicii Arena and at the same time the largest competition in the history of Queen & King of the Court. Now a new winter evening awaits with sand on the arena floor, world stars on the court and thousands of supporters in the stands. Stockholm Beach 2027 – January 28 in Avicii Arena.
