About Olivia Rodrigo
GRAMMY Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo is one of the most influential artists of our time. After breaking records with her chart-topping debut album SOUR, which went 6x platinum—the fastest album in history to have all of its songs certified RIAA Platinum or higher—3x GRAMMY®-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo made a monumental comeback with her sophomore album GUTS, showcasing a new level of both her vocal and lyrical prowess. This year, Rodrigo is set to release her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, on June 12. The first single, Drop Dead, was released on Friday, April 17.
Hailed by The New York Times as “a songwriter of almost astonishing purity,” she has received fourteen GRAMMY® nominations, including nominations for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year for her work with both SOUR and GUTS. She won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 64th GRAMMY® Awards. She was named New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, Woman of the Year at Billboard’s 2022 Women in Music Awards, and Songwriter of the Year at both the ASCAP Pop Music Awards and Variety Hitmakers. She has also received seven Billboard Awards, a Brit Award, a Juno Award and an NME Award, while “Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film)” won Best Music Documentary at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
SOUR debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went on to become the longest-running debut album in the top 10 of the 2000s - and the first to spend a full year at the top. SOUR also debuted at number one in the UK, Canada, Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand. Upon release, SOUR had the highest number of US streams ever for a debut album by a female artist and broke the record for most streams for an album in a week by a female artist on Spotify. In 2022, she embarked on her first-ever world tour - a sold-out tour that took her to over 40 cities in North America and Europe.
Hailed as an “instant classic” by Rolling Stone, Rodrigo’s second album GUTS debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, while the single “Vampire” returned to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Rodrigo topped the Artist 100, giving her a chart-topping triple. Rodrigo is the first female artist in nearly a decade to debut her first two albums at number one on the Billboard 200, as well as the youngest artist in Hot 100 history to debut with three number one albums (“Vampire,” “Drivers License,” and “Good 4 U”). The remaining eleven songs from GUTS all reached the top 40 on the Hot 100.
In 2024, Rodrigo embarked on her second world tour, the GUTS World Tour, which concluded in the summer of 2025 after 100 sold-out headline shows in 64 cities in over 21 countries. She donated a portion of her net proceeds from the tour to charities around the world. The donations were channeled through Rodrigo’s Fund 4 Good, a global initiative that works to create a more equal and just future for women and girls by directly supporting local nonprofits that advance girls’ education, defend reproductive rights, and combat gender-based violence. Rodrigo was named Billboard’s 2024 Touring Artist of the Year following the global success of the GUTS World Tour.
Before the year was out, Rodrigo reached another career milestone with his first song for a film soundtrack: “Can’t Catch Me Now” from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The song was nominated for a GRAMMY® for Best Song Written for Visual Media, won a 2023 Hollywood Music in Media Award for SciFi/Fantasy Film, a 2024 SCL Award for Outstanding Original Song for a Dramatic or Documentary Visual Media Production, and was shortlisted for the 2024 Academy Awards.
In 2025, Rodrigo continued to tour South America, performing her first-ever stadium concert in Curitiba, Brazil. She dominated the festival scene, performing at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York, where she united generations with special guests such as David Byrne. Rodrigo made history as the second-youngest person ever to headline Glastonbury, where she invited iconic guest artist Robert Smith of The Cure. Now, her LIVE FROM GLASTONBURY (A BBC RECORDING) – an album capturing her headline performance from the renowned British festival – is available for pre-order. After officially wrapping up his GUTS world tour over the summer, Rodrigo teamed up with Feist for a stripped-down acoustic version of “We’re Going to Be Friends” to honor The White Stripes at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in the fall of 2025.
