More about Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais is considered one of Britain’s most influential comedians since Charlie Chaplin. He is the creator and star of the hit television series "The Office," "Extras," and "Derek," as well as the critically acclaimed Netflix series "After Life."
Gervais has achieved immense international success with his Netflix specials "Humanity," "SuperNature," "Armageddon," and, most recently, "Mortality." The accompanying tours have broken sales records worldwide, while the specials themselves have topped the charts on Netflix. Both "Armageddon" and "Mortality" won Golden Globe Awards for Best Stand-Up Comedy Performance on Television, in 2024 and 2026, respectively.
During the "Armageddon" tour, Gervais also earned a place in the Guinness World Records. His 2023 performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles became the highest-grossing stand-up show for a single performance in history.
Beyond his stand-up work, Gervais has won numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to television and film. "The Office" has been broadcast in over 90 countries and adapted into 14 international versions, while Gervais himself has hosted the Golden Globe Awards on five occasions. During the “Legend” tour, too, a portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to charity. Following the “Mortality” tour, Gervais donated £2.43 million to animal welfare organizations around the world.
